As a correction Ramadan in month based on moon so it’s 29 days not 40. And for Iftar time difference it’s differ even between cities in the same country depends on actual sunset.

Clarification. We fast for one month which is typically 29 or 30 days. Also the iftaar time isn’t adjusted for height. Everyone would break their fast At that location at the same time regardless of your altitude

The Islamic calendar is lunar and Ramadan is one of the months (the 9th). The lunar calendar is shorter than the solar calendar by about 11 days. So, Ramadan moves with regards to the solar calendar. It is earlier by about 11 days every following year and the cycle repeats about every 33 years. So, Ramadan can fall into different seasons and the duration of fasting is about 30 days, certainly not 40.
