Certain artists possess the ability to effortlessly blend genres, creating unique and captivating sounds. One such artist is Sudan Archives.

Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio, Sudan was exposed to a wide range of musical influences. Her love for the violin and fascination with North African fiddling traditions set the stage for her future musical exploration.

Sudan Archives began her musical journey by studying ethnomusicology at Pasadena City College while attending the experimental club night Low End Theory. Her goal was to showcase the Blackness of the violin by exploring its history in various cultures.

In her early career, she released her self-titled debut EP, followed by "Sink EP" in 2018, and her debut studio album, "Athena," in 2019, which received critical acclaim.
In 2022, she made a comeback with the single "Home Maker" from her second studio album, "Natural Brown Prom Queen." The album was praised for its variety and showcased a different side of her artistry.
