Cutest Town Ever: St Jean de Luz, Basque Country, France -

Показать описание
#St. Jean de Luz is called Donibane Lohitzun in the Basque language. It's located in the Basque region (Pays Basque), in the southwestern corner of France. This town is one of the most popular towns of the French Basque Country. Nancy Zubiri lived in St. Jean de Luz for a few months many years ago and she came back recently for a day-long visit. She thinks this town is one of the cutest places on earth, with its beautiful, tranquil beach, important fishing port, traditional Basque style architecture and plenty of history.
The Infanta Marie Therese of Spain was married to Louis XIV of France in St. Jean de Luz in 1660, in order to repair the long standing rift between the two countries. Today, St. Jean de Luz also has some amazing seafood restaurants. It maintains its Basque traditions through its annual festivals, the architectural style of the buildings and the cuisine served in its restaurants.
