Nowadays, The number of spam comments on popular websites may be as high as 85 percent. This means that out of every 100 comments, only 15 are valid. Comment moderation is a time-consuming process, and Akismet will save you hours. Akismet is going to catch spam comments until it arrives in your moderation queue as it stands. This helps you to concentrate your attention on moderating the comments of actual users.
So in this tutorial, we are gonna learn how to block those spam comments from your wordpress site.
firstly, go to the dashboard.You see here I already got a spam comment from a bot.Right now we will add a plugin called Akismet
You will see this plugin on the first page. Just install now and activate it.
After activating Akismet you will see this.
Click on set up your Akismet account.
You will see some premium packages here and you also see a personal plan. we will use that.
Here you have to select $0 per year to use free under a non-commercial license.
Type your email address here your first name and last name and your website address
For a non-commercial license, we have to click all these three e buttons.So, now you will receive a verification code through email address. verify it as usual.
So our verification is done.
let's jump into the dashboard and click manually connect API key.
you'll find another email after verification copy the API key.
Copy that API key and paste it here.
Congratulation Akismet is now protecting your site from spam

After successfully installing Akismet, you will see an option here. that means Akismet has started working for you.
