About Jenna Ortega:
Jenna Marie Ortega (born September 27, 2002) is an American actress. She began her career as a child actress, receiving recognition for her role as young Jane in The CW comedy-drama series Jane the Virgin (2014–2019). She had her breakthrough by starring as Harley Diaz in the Disney Channel series Stuck in the Middle (2016–2018), for which she won an Imagen Award. She played Ellie Alves in the second season of the thriller series You in 2019 and starred in the family film Yes Day (2021), both for Netflix.

Ortega received critical praise for her performance in the teen drama The Fallout (2021), and went on to star in the 2022 horror films Scream and X establishing herself as a scream queen. She starred as Wednesday Addams in the Netflix horror comedy series Wednesday (2022), for which she received a nomination for a Golden Globe Award.

About Wednesday:
Wednesday is an American coming-of-age supernatural comedy horror television series based upon the character Wednesday Addams from The Addams Family. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, it stars Jenna Ortega as the title character, with Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, Gwendoline Christie, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Fred Armisen, and Christina Ricci appearing in supporting roles. Four out of the eight episodes are directed by Tim Burton, who also serves as executive producer. It revolves around the titular character, who attempts to solve a monster mystery at her school.

Burton was previously associated with two Addams Family-related projects: the 1991 film, which he passed on, and a cancelled stop-motion animated film. In October 2020, he was reported to be helming a television series, which was later given a series order by Netflix. Filming took place in Romania between September 2021 and March 2022. Wednesday premiered on November 16, 2022, and was released on Netflix on November 23 to generally positive reviews from critics, who praised Ortega's performance but found some similarities to CW dramas. Within two weeks of release, it became the third-most watched English-language Netflix series.

If jenna actually changed the script, she's a W for that don't give a sh*t about what anyone says this makes me look up to her even more, changing the script a little is not a bad thing nor is it disrespectful since the creator was the one that asked her to act the character so she has the right to change it a little if she wants

Let's be honest here for a second the reason Wednesday was/is so successful is because of the performance of Jenna Ortega, yes the cast and crew also did amazing as well and it all meshed so great. Just dont get it twisted Jenna wowed so many with how she portrayed Wednesday and if she did change the script from what it was written then shit it worked out wonderfully especially with the amount of success she is getting shown now for her hardwork, dedication and understanding the character she is portraying! Season 2 indicated that and it being the third most watched all time on Netflix and honestly I still cant get enough Jenna, she is literally one of the biggest names right now and i feel people are just attacking this one thing from her because of her age even though she has been acting since she was 10, I say good for Jenna for speaking up and doing what she thinks is right!

People are always looking for something negative or hating on a person for being creative for being in character and knowing what works best. It’s not being disrespectful to a writer for giving an insight. Writers should be use to people rewriting or circling things to improve their work. Teachers do it all the time. It just shows she has a darker side to her and let it show. It’s called team work. Working together to make a masterpiece. In the end everyone wins and everyone gets paid. Good job to everyone who was involved. Hope to see more of Wednesday.

Oh for goodness sakes. She's not getting fired. She actually got promoted and is now the executive producer of the show. People need to calm down with the hyperbole.

I think you are overplaying the Jenna Ortega being in trouble for changing the script. It is strongly rumored that she will be an Executive Producer in Wednesday 2. So she will have a say on the writing of the script.

Script writers at Netflix are know for disregarding the original content. They have no respect for the source material created by far superior talents (like The Witcher) and have tanked series as a result (like The Witcher).
She has alot of courage to push back (and probably saved the series). Nice that she acknowledged that this was stepping right up to the line... yet necessary.
Truth is the Netflix writing staff needs better people... and Netflix needs to deal with it.

I don't know if this is a good analogy, but the writers of "Wednesday" begged Ortega to play the part of Wednesday numerous of times and she rejected the role. Finally, Ortega excepted, and she crushed it! I can't think of any other young actress that could play Wednesday better than her. On the opposite, Stanley Kubrick directed a film, "Full Metal Jacket." Kubrick chose Tim Colceri over R. Lee Ermy to be the senior drill instructor, Gunnery SGT. Hartman at the beginning of the movie. Ermy argued with Kubrick time after time again that he was the right actor and the perfect player depicting Gunnery SGT. Hartman and won the role and he crushed it!

Comes to how much do the script writers interact with the Director (and when they do) versus how much does the Actor interact with the Director? The Actor spends the entire time on set with the director WHEN they are acting. The writers? Maybe curled up on a couch with their fave latte and chips with their style of music playing, ignoring all interruptions and almost never WHEN the director and actor NEED them. So, writers, SHADDUP bout Jenna changing the script on the fly. YOU haven't listened in on the actor learning what the director wants OF the character. Get on set and learn, dammit, then your work won't get changed so much!
I praise both Jenna AND Tim for sticking with the character so solidly!

WOW SO TALENT AND I DONT TINK THE PRODUCERS OF WENDNESDAY GO IN TO LEFT HER GO SHE IS IN EVERYDODY LOVE HER WE ALL FALL IN LOVE WHIT HER

I hope the producers allow her a lot more leeway .... and actually encourage her to do that. What this reminds me of is Steve McQueen in The Great Escape. He was pretty arrogant and pushy, demanding they give him more lines, and also the motorcycle stunt. That movie was a great hit & is a timeless classic ... because of Steve McQueen. I don't know what the other famous actors thought about that .... but they had to admire the results. If someone gets too big-headed, we all know what can happen. Jenna seems to not at all be a diva ... and is handling it all quite well. As long as she never goes up on stage and slaps someone, she'll probably remain amongst the brightest stars.
