Is the 2020 Toyota Yaris the BEST budget car or BUY a Corolla instead?

The ALL NEW Toyota Yaris is here but may really surprise you. This new Yaris is a joint effort between Toyota & Mazda. Under the hood is a 1.5L inline-4 producing 106 HP & mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. It is only available in a hatchback and essentially is a Mazda 2. The inside is actually quite spacious for a small car , but screams Mazda. Is the 2020 Toyota Yaris the BEST budget car or should you spend a little more and get a Corolla instead?

As you said in the end, this is why manufacturers should not discontinue making small cars as GM, Chrysler & Ford have. Not everyone can afford or needs a big expensive car.

I’m glad you review all cars. Some people just go for expensive cars but you do it all. Thx it helps a lot!

Joe, it's nice to see that you are reviewing ALL types of cars not just the expensive ones. This and some of your other reviews are cars most people can relate to.

I bought one with a 6 speed manual transmission. I am very happy with the car. 40 mpg with gas up at $5 + a gallon is a godsend! Just a good, honest and simple vehicle. I think it was a mistake for Toyota to drop it from their lineup. We need more cars like this.

It looks likes a Mazda 2, it sounds like a mazda 2, it smells like a mazda 2, it feels like a mazda 2, but it's a toyota Yaris

Dude gets credibility points for saying things he'd like to see changed instead of everything's perfect like most salespeople.

I just picked up a 2020 Yaris XLE Hatch in April, and I got the upgraded Navigation, leather, and it's in dark grey. I did Royal Purple for my first oil change, and I did a K&N upgraded filter. I literally fill up the car once a month. Epic MPG. If anyone has one, and the factory tires go bad, get the 185/60R26 Yokohama Ascend GT. I got 3.4 mpg upgrade just from changing tires.

Thank you for showing this car. It is great to find a channel that has a good variety of cars rather than the same ole ones over and over again. Thank you!

I just bought the 2019 sedan version and I’m in love with mine. It’s a pretty electric blue. It definitely puts my hunk of junk before it to shame.

While we enjoy watching videos on cars we can only dream of, it is nice to see videos of more affordable cars.

I owned a 2011 Mazda 2 and loved it! A hoot to drive, economical and never broke. The essence of driving a slow car fast is more fun than driving a fast car slow. Sold it to a friend and she loves it too. I might just buy another, happy its still available.

So i checked this car out in Florida, i had a 2000 Toyota Echo (bullet proof when i used for school) and have a special appreciation for them, but this was is $18, 995. Before taxes, so i checked the corolla, and believe it or not got a 2020 Toyota Corolla XSE for $22, 785, so i got the corolla and will never regret it, i absolutely loveeee

Great video Joe. My sister just bought the same 2020 Yaris. Your review helped with her decision.

I currently have a 2008 Yaris sedan and it has 350, 000 miles on it and still runs great. I've been wanting a Corolla or camry but they currently have massive recalls on them

I think this is the best budget car in its segment. It has a spare tire unlike most subcompact nowadays. No turbo, not CVT. That's a major plus. Great MPG. And the price! You're getting a lot of car for your money. I'm think about getting one for my sister. It will be her first car.

I have a 2011 Yaris sedan with 199k miles on it. Runs fine. Only had oil changes, serpentine belt, coolant fluid change, and one tune up done just to keep maintenance up. Love it.
