People who say, "You don't deserve to own that car" deserve all the hate they can get. After all, what comes around goes around. If they go around hating other's hard work to get their dream car and want to discredit it, then they deserve to be called out on their hate and have it shoved as far up their gluteus maximus as possible.

i remember one of my friend's mom had a saleen mustang. i wouldnt have really known (wasnt a car guy at the time), but she treated it like it was special, and you could tell she loved it even if other people didnt really get it.

The 'one of a kind' thing is too true in the domestic scene. I go to the local stop of the Goodguys tour most years, and so many of the owners put those plaques next to their car that run down a list of how many were made with this and that factory option. I couldn't help but wonder how much time was put into researching everything on that list, and then carefully selecting which options would give them a list that counts down until they are able to say "and THIS is that car." It's very far from just being a Corvette thing, but I've only noticed this going on at domestic American shows.

I had a Jeep Wrangler YJ in college, told everyone it was a one of a kind trim package the “Je Flinstone”. Reality the driver floor rotted away and surfboard material was used to fill it and rot took away the “ep” away from the side Jeep logo and all that remained was “Je”
