The best virtual audio device on MacOS - Loopback 2

Показать описание
Can Loopback 2 solve all my audio software routing needs?
Rogue Amoeba recently updated their Loopback software to version 2 and I reached out to them for a review copy, which they were happy to provide.
In my short time with it I quickly realized it is a near essential tool for routing audio on the mac.
With Loopback 2 I'm able to create a virtual audio device that combines my microphone, the output of skype, the output of reaper, firefox, Zoom, iTunes (pretty much anything) within one interface that I can access as an audio device in Screenflow for recording, or OBS for streaming.
I'm looking forward to trying this out with streaming for real soon.
In this video you'll see the problems I face when creating videos, how Loopback 2 solves those problems, as well as many pros and cons of this software.
To summarize my complaints
1 - can't reroute virtual audio cables once connected (have to delete and make new
2 - no undo, it''s easy to shift-click the wrong thing and since there's a lot of delete key action needed, I had to start over a couple times.
3 - can't back up, export, share settings.
4 - metering and volume controls do not have dB or % markings or tooltips. Very mac-like but not great for audio people.
5 - Price, it's $99 US and that's a lot of damage. But I don't think there's anything else close to what this can do.
I've forwarded these complaints/feature requests to Rogue Amoeba and it seems to be things that are on their wish list as well. Hopefully these things will be added before long.
Thanks for watching!
