For people with a budget visiting Amsterdam, , visit a local market and you will get a fresh caramel syrup waffel just as good for like 2-4 euros. And for that same price you can also go to a local supermarket and buy a package of 10 which you can heat up in a microwave for 10 sec if you want it warm !

Peak season for Amsterdam is more like August. I’ve been Amsterdam in March, August, and December and the crowds in August are so bad you’re basically shuffling through the streets because you can’t walk any faster. You’re lucky to see Amsterdam so quiet, that’s when it’s the most charming.

The name of the tree you saw near by Nemo science Museum is in Dutch: ruwe iep. In English it's called: mountain elm or wych elm. The chips you saw on the ground are the seeds.

Stops everything to look up a recipe for Snert because I love pea soup but the addition of celery & leek sounds divine 😋✨!! Also, I have some Dutch heritage from my mom's side 😄so will be fun to try some recipes related to my ancestors ☺!

I had a trip booked to Amsterdam in spring 2019 & then the pandemic happened & I never got to go. A few years later I decided to go to Sweden & Denmark. But after watching this, I am extremely motivated to book a trip to Amsterdam! The food looks amazing. Great content. I’m a fan!

Thanks for the video. We just came back from my trip Amsterdam. AMS is such a unique place to visit. The new bike parking facility is huge. My favorite food in AMS is actually the tapas from a Spanish restaurant Duende Dos. :) The most unforgettable activity is the King’s Day party throughout the city. The most beautiful place is Keukenhof.

As a Dutchie, next time should also try: a tompouce, pasteitje met ragout, oliebol, frikandel speciaal, kapsalon. You'll love them.

Finally catching up and WOWWWW did this make us hungry!! We grew up eating literally all these things and it's making us miss home 🤤🤤 Except the raw herring... my Opa used to eat herring out the can and I could not handle it as a child hahaha. Maybe I'll have to give it a try in a sandwich one day 😉

Bitterballen are more eaten as a borrelsnack.
Traditionaly pancakes in the Dutch homes are eaten as a dessert with stroop (like from the stroopwafel), rolled up.
Pancakes, crêpes and poffertjes are different things and are all 3 made of a different batter.
The apple pie is not seen as a dessert by the Dutch but as a cake, which normally you eat with your tea or coffee halfway through the morning or afternoon or in the evening, we eat it also as part of a birthday cake.
