This Movie is the absolute best movie I have ever seen IN MY LIFE. I am so thrilled I got to see it in theatres when it came out in 1994. This movie ALWAYS makes me cry. This and ET are the greatest movies of all time. The soundtrack is a Masterpiece. Tom Hanks is just ICONIC in his Oscar Winning performance. This movie went to win Best Picture at The Academy Awards, and It deserved it. This movie will always be My Favorite Movie, with ET and La La Land. Titanic and Slumdog Millionaire.

I saw this with my mother. I had to go out in the lobby during the combat scene. Even though I did not go to Vietnam, I felt like I did. The film moves from Elvis and The Beatles to disco. Forrest finds himself in Washington, D.C., an ordinary man caught up in extraordinary circumstances. I developed an affection for the character after taking my son to D.C. We joked about Jenny running through the Reflecting Pool. Reliving the baby boomer life can be painful.
