To be honest, I was actually waiting for something ignorant to come out of your mouth like most other people,  like...'This DAW is better then all others...blah blah blah....' But you said, '...the best DAW is the one that flow better with you".  Well stated! And nice video!

The layout of this video and how you phrased everything was perfect! Thank you so much for this timeless advice. This was one of the best videos on DAWs I have seen.

THE Best Answer you whatever fits you the best. There is no absolute best. Technically and sonically they all are very similar. I'm a very satisfied user of Nuendo for over 15 years now.... even for MIDI music productions. Very good sounding MIX engine.

Very good video Sean... you hit the nail on it's head

Started with creator on Atari ST, next cubase and Nuendo, i tried Fl studio, Reaper but now i stick with studio one easy to use and powerfull enough to do anything i want

Mixcraft has everything in very easy on the eye format. It needs better sampler but that's about it really. I also mess with FL Studio. I am not a geek and I like simple and easy on the eye stuff. FL is not exactly perfect but I get romantic feelings about the sampler and mini synth and the piano roll which is dark and Has ghost notes which helps.

I've been telling people this for years so kudos to you for not selling out and reccomending/saying one is better than the other. Please do a tutorial on how you do your bass slides!!!!

When I started out I used FL Studio then I started DJing and got a MacBook Pro and started using Logic Pro X they both have their own pros and cons but I like both

Hey, Sean. Thanks for making such a non-bias video while still providing some examples of different DAWs.

I started off on Mixcraft then Cool Edit Pro then Adobe Audition 3 then started making beats on Ableton Live 9 then I went to recording school and we learned Pro Tools and Logic Pro X and after that I got a Mac and from the moment I first used Logic Pro X I could tell that it was for me because of how easy to understand it is compared to many others for me and my work flow has increased tremendously ever since I started using it and my production has progressed a lot. I would recommend Logic Pro X to anyone. I do prefer Pro Tools automation and their stock EQ but still Logic Pro X has free updates and you get a lot of content you can’t beat that especially for the price.

Shout out for Mixcraft 8.

I've dabbled with different DAWs and this is my current favorite.

"The best DAW is the one you are the most productive with."
You're exactly right, Sean, that's the correct answer and I expected no less from you. Excellent advices again.

(myself a REAPER user)

I've used Cool Edit Pro, different versions of Cubase and Nuendo, Pro Tools, and I"m currently using Studio One w/ PreSonus. I liked Pro Tools, but Studio One has felt the best to me. It's very user friendly. It's easy to navigate through w/ the various tools and functions and flow. Good video!

I am a songwriter. I have been home recording using Cakewalk for years. Cakewalk is no longer in business, so I need to find a compatible software that I can transfer my existing files into and to record new material. Any advice?

Hey Devine I'm a fan/producer & engineer from Jamaica, first i must say I love your work and follow you quite extensively. Anyways I make Jamaican dancehall/reggae music and I have applied a lot of your techniques and have gotten better results over the past months anyways I'm still far away from the sound I'm looking for. I use presonus studio one 3 and I have never heard u mention that daw so I take it you probably have never used it before. I think it and logic one are quite similar in terms of work flow, but what I really wanted to ask is if you could collaborate with me on one of my Jamaican project in terms of like for future references because I'm not sure if u have ever mixed a full Jamaica beat and song before but would love to get your assistance in helping and also for you to provide us your fans and followers with ideas and approach Please let me know?

I’m wanting to create edm, electronic rock, r&b, and hip hop beats (really don’t want to confine the type of music I make to any specific genre and i plan on branching way out). I also want to record audio and some external instruments. A big thing i don’t want to miss out on is any plug-ins/instruments to fully customize and contort the sounds to my liking. I also want learning the software to be as easy as possible/ not intimidating (but that’s not as important as sound customization). Any suggestions ?

I am interested in writing meditation type electronic music. I would use a midi keyboard for input. What DAW would be strongest / fit?
