Congratulations, Timothée Chalamet is a very good actor, but honestly and sincerely (please don’t hate me), he is light-years away from being close to Marlon Brando or Daniel Day-Lewis. As an actor, he has had a very 'comfortable' career without roles that truly challenge him or where he demonstrates sublime acting.

As a person, I think he is very self-centered, and I feel he has lost touch with reality a bit. It’s very easy to win for a movie where you are the producer (meaning you choose yourself as the lead). I see a lack of humility in him: if he doesn’t win, he’s upset; he decides the story, his improvisations; if it’s a supporting role, he doesn’t accept it since he always wants to be the lead, etc.

Marlon Brando hated fame; it wasn’t relevant to him. Daniel Day-Lewis is a retired actor with an impeccable career. Sorry, guys, but for me, an actor who demonstrates their acting ability in all aspects will always hold more value than a guy who just seeks fame. Timothée is a very good actor of course! but honestly, I think Hollywood overvalues him too much.

This will come haunt him if he does not win any major acting award for the next 5 to 10 yrs and beyond. Most especially the Oscars if you’re saying you’re chasing greatness after receiving your first major acting award, this does not only add pressure to you & the people around you but the question of when you’re going to get an Oscar?? And the question of when you are going to achieve that status of “greatness” you’ve mentioned equalling the people you have mentioned as well. Now you have everybody expecting you to achieve that status. Instead of letting your succeeding work speaks for itself. I haven’t heard this from the greatest actors & actresses who have ever lived and still living and that what makes them great! Man you should also learn from those greats you’ve mentioned the humility & awareness that it’s NOT all you.
