This week I am talking about balancing a game, and in the process I accidentally fix "Quidditch", a sport from harry potter book series.
Have fun watching!

I like your ideas, but I think it would make sense to limit both how far forward a keeper can go and how far back a chaser can go. This way you avoid 3 people blocking 3 hoops once a team is more than the 4 points of a snitch in the lead, and it gives a clear role to each of them.
I also think that it's fine if both seekers only go after the snitch. The seeker of the losing team could either just play defence and stop the other one from catching it, or you could make it, that a seeker has to bring the snitch to a designated area to score the points and end the set. This would enable the beaters to try to stop him and if you are losing you could catch it and just throw it away again, hoing it will disappear quickly. You could also add a time limit how long you can hold the snitch, to stop people just holding it untill your team is in the lead. Like in basketball for example where you can only take so many steps with the ball. Really cool idea with the sets though! I really want to make this game now!

Do you know the rules of the real life quidditch? Keepers are just like chasers with some special rules like keepers in soccer, the snitch is only worth 30 points. the 150 points in the books comes from the first ever game with a snitch (formerly snidget, a small yellow bird) and a reward of 150 galleons for the person who caught the bird.
Only the player with the ball is allowed to be "rammed" aka charged or tackled in real life quidditch and the bludgers, thrown by the beaters usually target the quaffle quarrier or a receiver about to catch a pass. the idea of subbing the seeker for a chaser is a really nice one though if your team is down more than 30 points, i will post it in the quidditch europe group on facebook and see what the community thinks.
