I made this knife for you to have the ability to fall in love with a knife that you can use as a trainer for as long as you would like. When
you become more advanced, the blade can be sharpened for a more realistic knife flipping experience instead of buying another knife. The knife is cost effective, while still using high quality materials such as the nicer 440c steel in the blade. I’m looking forward to hearing your opinion and hopefully The Wave can lead you down an awesome balisong journey like it did for me:)

The replicant is my fav knife in my collection, it has a bit of tap because I have used it for 6 years all the time! So I’m definitely not trying to say anything bad about it :)

I started off with that literal exact Amazon knife you’re holding in your hand and worked my way up to a KERSHAW Lucha, now I have a kraken raken v3. Loved them all

Tap and play does not mean cheap. Some older flippers prefer more play because it can actually facilitate manipulation of the balisong better in some cases.

I love my 42 and it has a good bit of play and tap.

Still a god video though, it would have only said differently when there is so much tap the handles completely pass each other horizontally, your knife is probably too lose.

Many good balisongs also just get loose and need a tighten on occasion

Since the wave is channel construction, and more room is cut out in the channels the farther down the blade, it makes for less tap. Sandwich balisongs can be tuned to a T and still have tap, but it’s not bad, won’t affect flipping, and isnt an issue if there’s no blade rub. Reps will have tap since there’s barely any space for the blade to move, and tap can be worked out through a couple of odd tricks, for example, dropping it. Lol. Either way, both the wave and rep keep their tune very well, as mine has proven to hold up very well with little maintenance, and reps are reps. Very well proven to be great.

I’m waiting on loctite to come in the mail but what I’ve noticed is as my pivot screws loosen and I start getting more tap and play, roll overs, chaplains and aerials get a fair bit harder coz the knife doesn’t wanna stay balanced
You just said it doesnt really effect flipping much and I wanted to add my 2 cents
It’d obviously depend on the knife tho, mines already handle biased so if the handles are moving around it’d have more of an effect on the centre of gravity than it would in a pivot-balanced bali

Tap and play are preferences. Some people want maxace tolerances and some people want tap and play. Believe it or not.

Bro I have that exact one and it does not effect flipping or anything, the clicking and wiggle doesn't matter on that one, it literally is so good at doing it's job it doesn't matter, what you have is an expensive REAL butterfly knife, the training one that is cheap is of course gonna not be the best but it's literally so good more then you think, use it and then make a video showing it works fine.

I got a trainer on amazon for 499 Indian rupees (approx. 5.99 usd I think) and It's pretty good, no tap and a little play

my knife has a lot of both tap and play, lets just say you can fit a marker in between the handles during when checking for play

I advise everyone wanting to purchase anything online that is wanting questions on what you want to buy just do a review of probably any product out there and purchase with knowledge and save yourself from getting taken. 👍🙂
