Reassembling my Rear Diff! Land Cruiser Re-Gear Pt. 2 #shorts

In this #shorts, I set the pinion depth, check the pattern, and finish out my 80s series Land Cruiser's re-gear to Nitro 4.56 gears!

taking a flapper wheel to the I.d. of the old bearings to allow them to slip on for a set of setup bearing. get your shim stack correct, wear pattern looks good then press on the new pinion bearings. also once you've got it set up. taking out the crush collar and replacing it with a solid spacer is a good thing to do. bump that flange on something while out on the trail and good by ring&pinion. the crush collar gets squished and you lose tension on the pinion bearings allowing the pinion to walk out. self destruction of the gear set.

Good trick to get your depth on your pinion is shave the inside of your old bearing to where it slips on and off easier and now you have a setup bearing that u can throw in your draw and u will have it the next time too. Your doing a great job keep it up your a boss!)

Make sure you’re checking the backlash, and pinion bearing preload when it’s all back together. Highly recommend a crush sleeve eliminator kit as well.

Always get new bearings. Then use old pinion bearing with a little removed from the inside of the race so it slides on and off easily. Don't really want to re use it anyway.
