I remember back in the mid 70s a friend had a 1969 z/28. It was almost totally stock with a 302. Beautiful car. At the time I had a 1970 Chevelle SS L78 396 (402) also fairly stock. Both of our cars were 4-speeds. We went down to our local dragstrip to see who's car was faster. Needless to say, the rat-powered Chevelle roasted the Camaro.

Brings back memories for me My childhood friend had a neighbor who had a 69 Lemans blue with black top
"flat hood "non spoiler Z /28 . This was around 1973 when they were cheap used cars that people were trying to get out of because of the
"energy crisis ".

Now thats an honest car..that original owner truly loved it and knew then it was a keeper.

May have been a pain moving it to other countries but weird driving it every day everwhere?
No different than any late model car...gas it up and go. Dailied these 80s through the 90s/early 2000s
To let the sit is rediculous, just take a picture and save the $ .

M21 Muncie was standard, M22 “Rock Crusher “was optional
Hood scoop displaying 302 was another option….cheers

Back in 69 this 302 had the highest lift cam and duration which gave it the nicest sound on any mouse motor on any other car

Such a cool car! When I was 10 years old in 1969 my Dad went to the Chevy dealer to buy a new Caprice 4dr. Inside the showroom they had a 1969 RS Z28 in this yellow with the black stripes. I was so excited to see such a car and tried to talk my Dad into buying it but he had four kids and a wife so he bought the Caprice! During my life I have owned 7 69 Camaros one of them was a Lemans Blue 69 RS Z28 and another was a 69 RS SS convertible. I almost painted the Lemans Blue Z yellow so it could be my dream car but since it was originally Lemans Blue I stuck with that! So needless to say a Yellow RS Z like this one is on my bucket list! Thanks for posting such a cool video!

Had a 69 Camaro 327 four speed. Some rust but restorable. Sold it in’83 for $2600. Wish I could get that one back.

From the photos this car never had the D80 spoiler option, I appreciate that nobody added them to the car later in it's life and kept it as it came from the factory 👍 .

Were the hideaway headlights standard or option on a 69 Z28?

The overspray on the firewall is actually a factory correct paint feature. The cars that left the factory never had a perfect paint line at the top of the firewall.

There’s nothing better than a RS option on the 69 Z/28. Back in ‘74 I owned a 68 Z/28 while in College and a friend of mine is the current owner. My current Z28 is a 70 4-spd which I purchased from the original owner back in ‘81. I spoke with the orig owner 3 summers ago while I was on a poker run and he wants to buy the car back, but its not for sale and he doesn’t want any other 70 Z28.

So which car would win in a quarter-mile a Z 28 or a Camaro SS with a 396 /375 HP. ?

It’s nice… it would have be good if he would have ordered it with cowl hood and spoiler package…thanks buddy…
