If your Equinox door power locks do not work then you may need to replace the door lock actuator. In this video I will show how I replace the door lock actuator on a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox,

Is the installation different for every door? Or is it the same? Ive been thinking about doing this myself for all 4 doors on my equinox but im a little intimidated.

(FYI, the 3 door bolts are T30 torx, not T27)
Just started on this project today..wow is it ever hard to see what the heck is going on behind the inside door section where those three T30 torx screws for the actuator are !!

The MOST difficult part ATM is at 3:41....getting that useless piece of plastic out of the way..how does one even begin to figure out the procedure in removing it... there is no mention of how to unclip it /pry it/ or what direction to move/ remove it..
(As the guy says in video, just delete installing this POS plastic, it serves no purpose & was installed by someone with insanity issues.

The worst part about this job ultimately is the dam window guide..it's just simply rigidly & stuck stubbornly in the way for removal / installation of the actuator.
SO, i went one step further, i removed both inside & outside of those two little triangle window pillar covers .

Removing these gives you access to the top 10mm bolt that holds the top of the window guide.
To get it pulled/moved up out of the way for actuator clearance:
snip a little rubber tit that goes through the window guide metal with side cutters
(cut pointy edge, not part where it gets inserted)
and pry it out of the hole
(it will still re install properly, as there is still lots of rubber to re insert & do it's job),

Then pull on the top of guide & a little sideways at same time while having other hand also pushing up and MAKING sure it is clearing actuator area cleanly from bottom..can only do this by feel / you won't be able to see shit.

When the top of guide is pulled up about 7", leave it there, you now have MUCH more room to get the dam actuator job done

I finally finished putting everything together and it's all now working great, but i must say:
I found this entire job high on the stress list, a person pretty much needs 3 arms but only one body present a there is no room for another person. Getting the rods in the correct orientation and spending hrs getting hung up on itself/linkages involved lots of cussing & saying "Why the hell did they do this /that".
It's definitely a very shitty task to take on !

Hey man so I'm working on this exact same thing but on the passenger side. One of the rods that hooks up to the door handle fell of and with a spring!? I can't seem to find where the spring goes too

Wait, you still have a 10mm socket?! :)
