This is actually a pretty nice riveter that is more compact and easier to use as they have substantially redesigned the traditional hand riveter. and it seems to have pretty good build quality.

I always use a backing washer when I rivet. It makes the fastened joint stronger.

I'd like to see a video on your hydraulic hand riveter.

What’s your recommendation for best bang for buck riveter without being cheap garbage?

The pin has gotten stuck every time I've used the arrow.

I picked up a *very* similar Quinn riveter a few months ago. I'd be surprised if they were from different factories. Looks identical except for some shaping on the red outer case.

The weak point for me was the internal rack+gear you show at 7:41 . Despite a bunch of solid forged and sintered parts they went with a stack of plates to assemble this gear. I think some slight misalignment between the layers plus sub-optimal gear shape from the rough stamping was just enough that a few of them took most of the load, snapped and the rest went too. It also chipped the outer edge of the teeth in that sliding core. This was from doing a 3/16 stainless rivet - so maybe at the edge of what something like this could do but still disappointing.

This was especially disappointing because, as you pointed out, it was otherwise well-built and nice to use. Other than that one-too-many cost cutting features, it seemed like a fine tool. Fortunately return was easy.
