As someone chronically ill we sadly get this alot too also in real life. Ive had ppl talk to me and treat me like im 10 when im 25 bc they see my mobility aid or see my work badge that says im disabled and suddenly to them its "omg small helpless child" meanwhile im a full time fucking store manager and have been since i was 19. As a happy and whimsical adult, I get infantalised quite often. It’s jarring that people believe adults shouldn’t be happy, carefree or express some childlike behavior. You don’t have to be sad all the time.
