ZBrush Tips & Workflows #2: Designing Eyvind Earle-esque Trees With Nanomesh

Sleeping Beauty had a huge impact on me as a child. In this video I demonstrate a new way for us to approach Eyvind's amazingly beautiful and evocative design sense.

Using ZBrush's new Nanomesh feature at a few old stand by tools I'm confident you can create some awesome new designs yourself!

For some reason I have no sound on any of Ryan's videos, but all other youtube videos are fine. This is a problem in Chrome and IE. The vids play fine on my iphone. Nothing is muted its just a unique issue with this channel, which has been fine in the past. It's doing my head in!

Hello Rkingslien- Great tutorial. Regarding the "Tree Trunks" you imported into the scene. Can you do or if you have the time to explain how they were created please. I'm wondering if this is possible in Zbrush alone or should we not attempt this in ZBrush at all. Trees can get really tricky and poly heavy if not careful I assume or have you found a way around this. Thanks!

Wow that was gooood
It came to my mined, that we can create a forest from this one tree by making the tree an insert-brush and with Zmodeler insert a nano-mesh on a plane and use variations in the nano-mesh menu to create different sizes, rotations and random settings.
we can also make the plane not even and so we will have hills and mountains  .
