I love the fact that this is the only meal in the entire film that he chooses to cook and serve himself. No assistance from his sous chefs. Back to his humble roots.

Basically Ratattouille in reverse. The chef was brought back to simpler and happier days rather than the costumer.

You can see it in his eyes that he actually *cared* about her opinion of the cheeseburger, because he had clearly put his heart and soul into the order… and she was one of the rare customers who could genuinely enjoy it.

This touches my heart. You can see him smiling while cooking it. Like for few seconds he is back to the times he cooked with passion and love.

The tiny detail that the plate looks like a simple paper plate but is actually made of porcelain... genius.

This scene was powerful as fuck. She remembered he said there was a time he was happy serving people, and saw the only photo in the office of him smiling making cheeseburgers at some hole in the wall diner, and asked him to make a cheeseburger which made him happy, so he spared her.

You know what the best part of this scene is, apart from the score, the cinematography, the feel of a man coming back into himself?
That burger looks incredible

I like how Lillian is smiling at 0:42. The other guests in the background look either pensive or horrified, but she smiles at seeing Slowik smiling at his simple work. She finally understands. It's a nice detail.

She was a common person. And for that, she got bread

Am I the only one that sees that the Chef is genuinely nervous about her reaction? You can literally see how stressed out he is after placing the plate.

You missed the best part in the entire film. When Margot states, "Now THAT is a cheeseburger, " Ralph's character brightens for the only time in the entire movie. He responds with a bright smile. "Yeah....that is a cheeseburger!" It gets back to the joy of cooking: creating something and finding joy in feeding someone.

I love this scene. He hates his work simply because he is unhappy with how it's been bastardized by the wealthy but a common woman shows enjoyment in the little things like a simple cheeseburger, but my only issue is that she could have gotten bacon on it

I wonder how many people walked out of the movie theatre and immediately went to get a cheeseburger.

I love this. No pretentious, overpriced crap. It's a nice little reminder not to forget the little things that actually make you happy.

Asking for a cheeseburger at this moment was a real queen’s gambit.

you could tell he wasn’t happy with the first few dishes that were barely meals at all, compared to the cheeseburger, which he handles carefully and with love

My favourite moment is at 1:33, may just be my interpretation but he actually looks nervous when he’s handed her the food like dang I hope she likes it. For so long his food has been at the point where if someone doesn’t like it it’s their fault because everything he cooks is near perfect, but when asked to cook a simple burger I think even he doesn’t have complete faith in his abilities to cook that like he used to. I think because you can’t make a perfect burger, it doesn’t work like that, a burger can only be pretty damn good. Which is why it meant so much that she liked it, all rolls in to him regaining something he thought was lost

This was the most passionate scene about making a burger since Spongebob.

The part when Margot and Chef both smile when she’s eating melts my frozen dead black heart!
