The Only Love Letter I'll Write

I wanted to make a project that showed my love of DIY and the community
Many bands don’t get remixes nor covers of their music for years. To me, making a remix or cover of a song is one of the highest forms of appreciation you can do to the art you listen to. It shows that you deeply care about the art you view. It makes the artists feel like people care about their art on a deeper level than something on a playlist to be consumed
I love supporting artists in DIY. I buy merch, buy albums on bandcamp, make covers, write articles to promote bands, produce music for people, play instruments for people, produce songs for comps, and made this remix album. I put a lot of work into the community. Why?
For years, I passively observed DIY due to intense social anxiety from cptsd. I never wanted to really interact with people due to a sense that I didn’t matter and could never matter to anyone. As I started to get more involved with the scene and working on myself, this has opened me up so much. I no longer have much of that dread that haunted me for years. I actually now want to meet cool people and talk to others, which is something I haven’t felt in years. I feel like I’m valued. This community has shown me so much love and has changed me forever. I wanted at least 1 project where I could highlight such an important change in myself and such an important love I have. Idc about numbers, idc about clout, idc about who you know. I just do this because I love DIY
