I bought ANOTHER car!!

So I have been searching for another project car for the channel for a short while, and with the prices of living, fuel and everything going up, my expendible income has gone down, and its been hard to find a car I won't lie! However, I walked into the office one day and this car got presented to me, we came to a deal and here is my new car! and.... yes its broken.

So here is my new broken project car! The airbag lights are on, the coolant lights are on, the central locking doesn't work, I dont know when it last was serviced and oh yeah... it has a huge coolant leak coming from somewhere.

Lets fix it!

Ace cars. Only the second I've ever seen with the cream interior after my old one! Cheap to fix too - loads and loads being broken for bits.

Brilliant lee, check for broken wires between the door and body of the car on drivers side its common on all vag cars

This will be a good project this. Quite liking that cream leather interior, makes it different to the norm!

Best bet is to do a coolant flush, waterpump & cambelt & check the vvt cam. If it’s the bwa then you could get lucky with something simple, if it’s something different then check the coolant hoses & little clamp on the drivers side at the back split on my Tfsi going into the bulkhead. I had to replace, ballache to get to - all intake out the way, and then it’s at the back.
Make sure to leave to self bleed. Top up accordingly. Do full service before you give it a rip. Never know what sort of sellers had it before 🤧 my chain went boom on me!
Also check boost pipes are in properly and not self tapered in 🤯 another issue I had. Mint car when running right but a headache when issues arise! Good luck mate

In case you was wondering normally on these it’s the airbag switch in the glovebox that needs replacing

Top tip migh5 need to buy a spline socket kit as most of the bolts are spline I find this out with mine and there very common to leak from water pump mine started doing it the other day

These eat locking solenoids, had to replace 3 out of 4 on my old one. You’ll need a spline set to do it, and to get to them you unbolt the outer door skin, well on the 5 door you do

airbag fault might be your passenger seat its a common fault a just plugged in a 2.2 ohm resistor and your central locking might be the door lock mechanism thats also a common fault

Lee have a look a the clock spring behind the streeing wheel and check air bag in the streeing wheel for air bag but looking forward to the content mk5 golf lovely motor

No big deal doing the water pump as you said it's never been serviced so you'll have to do the belt anyway and as you know it's common practice to do water pump at same time so you was going to do it anyway
