Deer Food Plots - Why Plant Clover

Doc shows the deer food plots and how he has increased the deer traffic on the small tract of land. It's important to understand that small tracts can attract a huge number of deer if there is a great mixture of feed and food plots. During the deer rut, this will also increase the number of bucks.

Whitetail management is my passion. I've guided and managed on small properties to large properties. I fully agree with what you're saying about small parcels of land. Love the work & videos you do!

I play a game called Farthest Frontier, and I wanted to know if the deers would eat from a clover field for hunting, and you're video about clover fields, and deers, popped out! 😄

I'm glad it works out in real life, hope it works in the game too, I may use your video as reference if needed so, thanks

Doc, any idea of when that mower give a way contest is going to happen? 2 out of 2 mowers down at the moment. I have an old 1998 JD LT-155 that I have spent about $3, 000 on since April/May 2023 forward. Current repair quote of $970.00 no thanks. Trying to find a good rotary push mower but Honda no longer makes a push mower and B&S quit mfg their Snapper line 2+ years ago. Slightly over 20, 000 sq feet of grass to mow. With the market changing over to battery its hard to find a good quality mower today, Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have a hill on my property that is maintained by the HOA, after all of the homes were built they hydra seeded everywhere with clover and wildflowers it was nice but after while we started getting snails millions and millions of snails that was going on for 3 or 4 years until we had a very cold year and that was it for the snails I think the cold killed the clover too, now it's just wild winter grass.

For some reason in my part of Louisiana the deer do not like turnips, radishes, winter peas and chicory. But they love my Purple Hull peas.

Speaking of feeders, I know the ladies are still young. Those 5 gal buckets aren’t gonna cut for 30. Have 20 and upgraded to the 35gal brute trash cans years ago. For food and water. Grit is still in small bucket. Egg production is reduced when not enough water. Curious to know how often you have to fill their food and water??? Sorry it’s off topic. In winter egg production is reduced or non existent for certain breeds.

This may seem like a stupid question. Do you have any problems with deer poop 💩? Always enjoy your videos.

As of 2023, the average deer density in Georgia is around 32 deer per square mile. Funny how you say hundreds of deer using your 40 acres. 😂
