Ive been eating dulce de leche for years, I am Argentine and I knew it was made with sweet or condensed milk but the crock pot is a spectacular idea!!!.Its better than stiring for three hours with out burning!!

I have made "Dulce de Leche" (in Chile called "Manjar Blanco"), since, most likely before you were born :). I love your series and thought of giving you a faster way to achieve the same results.. Put the 2 cans of condensed milk in a pressure pot with about two inches of water at high heat. When the first steam comes out, lower the heat to a minimum and leave it for 30 minutes. You may leave it longer and get a darker Manjar Blanco with a touch of bitter flavor. Cheers.

I have that pitcher!

Dulce de leche is delicious. A friend made some as an ice cream topping. It was SUPER sweet, but incredibly tasty.

Love this series! When I was living in Argentina I learned to do this just boiling the cans for 3 hours - but even that is labor intensive as you have to constantly add hot water to the Dulce to Leche pot... my only feedback is - though Argentina is strongly influenced by Italian culture, this word isn't Italian... it's said "dul-say" :)

great on crepes or mashed with bananas OR you can make homemade alfajores: sugar cookie sandwiches rolled in coconut or dipped in chocolate (or BOTH!)

Love the show and always look forward to my daily dose of WTF.

Could do an episode on Vanilla beans? I keep seeing it at my local grocery store but I'm nervous about using or buying it since it's so expensive.
