Bought Dead! ...We Lift the Body of Our Discovery 4 SDV6 Gen2

In this episode, we begin the challenging repair of our newest addition—a 2016 Land Rover Discovery 4 with the 258 HP SDV6 Gen2 diesel engine. This beautiful car, which Vera fondly calls "Pretty Boy" but Christian calls it "Prince Charming," came to us with a failed engine at just 181,000 km. Despite the engine issue, the Discovery is in fantastic condition and fits perfectly into our Land Rover lineup, joining our Range Rover "Queen" and black Discovery 4 "Prince Mall Crawl."

The first step in tackling such a repair is removing the body from the frame to gain full access to the engine. This difficult job requires careful attention to avoid breaking components—because as we all know, Land Rover spare parts can be expensive!

The outdoor lift we use made this a challenge, as temperatures hovered around freezing, making the process even more demanding. Nevertheless, we pushed through and made great progress toward getting "Prince Charming" back on the road.

Christian and Vera, don't listen to ANYONE that criticises your English and/or accent. As a Brit, I find your command of English exceptional. In fact, if your English was any better it would likely detract too much from your German accent which for me is a big part of what I love about your accents overall. Glad that you are using the brake disks (rotors) that I gave you. Regarding the comment that performance brakes aren't of any use on a D3... I know that is correct!! I only got those brake rotors because I had a special offer and it made those rotors cheaper than standard ones.
Also... I had those rotors on my RR Sport and they seemed to last longer than the standard rotors that were on the vehicle when I purchased it.
All I hope is that they work well for you, and I am happy that they are now being used!!

Your english is a quaint mix of the us and german inflections. I love it and it adds humour to the videos that would otherwise be vacant. Do not change please ans swear as often as you feel. Swearing adds colour and depth, especially with a german accent in english.

As an English person living in Germany I can confirm that your English is excellent. That said, the minority of German people who are criticising your English would almost certainly be able to find fault with mine! The word „Besserwisser“ springs immediately to mind 🙄.
