Pikes 21st June 2015

Finally a nice summer weather outside. Had to try some fishing. But water is still only 11C and nothing is growing in the water. Pike has still nowhere to hide.

I went fishing today, caught 11 perch and 2 pike. The pikes were 1kg and 3, 5kgs, perch were from 200g-800g aprox. About 18C in the water at my summerhouse!

I went fishing here in finland today with my estonian friend and he told me that he has lost one of his live bait rigs on the water, then later after i came back from the lake, i spotted the rig, it was completely wrapped in water foliage and i thought "thered nothing there anymore, so imma pick it up", so after i ripped out like twenty water lilies i felt a hard tug and i was like "no fucking way, its still on" so i wrestled the pike for a min until i got it in the net and it was nice 2, 5 kg pike, it drifted with the rig about 60 meters from the original spot, and i even got to keep the fish

I see you often take the pike with you, do you "torka" it (dry it), smoke it? Perhaps something else? I want to try pike again but dont know how to cook it properly.
