New BMW X1: The most important BMW EVER?!
Показать описание
.............................................................
This is the new BMW X1 - and, for the first time ever, you can also get the X1 as a fully-electric car called the BMW iX1!
Let’s start off with the X1. It’s had some design tweaks from the previous model, including thinner headlights and more angular brake lights, and comes with the option of huge 20-inch alloy wheels for the first time.
The biggest changes come inside the cabin though, where the X1 is completely different to older BMWs because most of the buttons have been removed! The only physical controls are on the steering wheel and floating armrest between the front seats. Instead, you’re meant to control everything by using the ‘Hey BMW’ personal assistant.
You can get the new X1 with a range of petrol and diesel engine options, including some with mild-hybrid tech. BMW has also developed two new plug-in hybrid engines for the X1. The entry-level 25e produces 245hp and can make 0-60 in 6.8 seconds, while the quicker 30e version gets 326hp in total and a 0-60mph time of 5.7 seconds.
The new all-electric BMW iX1, meanwhile, has dual motors that can produce a combined 313hp and accelerate from 0-60mph in 5.7 seconds. It should have a range of 272 miles, which is more than the range of the Mercedes EQA.
The X1 goes on sale later in 2022, with prices starting from just over £35,000 and rising to almost £47,000 for the top-spec 23d M Sport Premiere Pro. Plug-in hybrids and the new electric iX1 will go on sale soon after, with the EV expected to set you back more than £50,000.
So, if you’re in the market for a small SUV, could the X1 or iX1 be for you? Stick with Mat to find out!
