This man needs an award. He is a student of Rome. “A bad peace is worse than war.”

What security he is talking about? This region was shaky before OCT 7 attack and even more shaky now. Religion, culture, land, and resources are scarce in the desert. It's worth fighting for. Shaping the region is for those who have the power to do it. This is what they call a 7 years war in the making. Next year hold more of the same.

Maybe Clarke would like to comment upon the possibilities of what was the 4.6-magnitude earthquake recently felt in northern Iran? (epicentre in Aradan, Semnan province, at a shallow depth of just 10 km)

Some people in Gazae say that the life in Gaza pre 7 October was way much better than the present and that's more intriguing

Overly emotional Arabs have missiles but little else...Easy pickings for a sophisticated multi tier military like the IDF

They have inspired a new generation to anger. Bravo. Sowing new seeds of hate has never led to a peaceful tomorrow.

Is there ANY way we can stay out of it?
Neither seem to want peace. Let them duke it out for themselves.

all one side has to do is persist while the other doesnt seem to have any practical ways of accomplishing their long term goals and has to deal with an economic clock ticking away...

For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle

Well watching news from nearly 40 years ago, I'd say pretty much the same in 40 years time
