I want to give HUGE kudo's to Trophy batteries! I got 6x batteries based on Will's previous videos and after talking with Dan. My batteries were shipped and unfortunately 2 of them were damaged in shipping. He was already coming my way and Dan literally drove 8 hours in his personal vehicle (2 hours out of his way each way) and hand delivered replacement batteries to me! I was blown away by this level of customer service. Absolutely, hands down the best customer service in my entire life!!! Cannot say enough good things about this company. Give them a look and based on my experience, I am sure you won't be disappointed!

I have had 6 of these for almost a year. They have been amazing in my unheated shed in the mountains. I've had some issues with remote monitoring/comms l, but Dan has been super responsive in helping me resolve it. I like that Trophy is just batteries and not trying to sell all kinds of other stuff.

I do small off grid installs for friends/relatives and your videos are the most comprehensive and easy to understand videos on the internet. Keep up the awesome work man.

"These are not flashy batteries, the do not have bright colours or bright logos." This is *_not_* a downside. 😀

I wish my wife looked at me the way Will looks at the guts of a server rack battery.

It would be useful to hear more about the communications interfaces on these units and others. Getting battery states and charge/discharge rates into Home Assistant would be a must-have for me.

These seem like a great deal, and alternative to some of the other server rack batteries. And I love that they go up to ~300 AH, as I think I could manage on just one of the 304 AH packs. Great info, great video Will!

One thing I do wish battery makers would do more are 12V batteries with the same features as these rack mounts: On off button, Pre-charge Resistors, built in SOC meters. I think EG4 has 1 that is 12V like this, but no one else. It would make creating small electricity back up systems SO much easier.

Great video!
We have three 100Ah Trophy batteries in our bus and love them. I accidentally had our first one shipped to our billing address in Minnesota while we were in Colorado and I didn't notice my mistake until the shipment was in transit. Dan took care of having it shipped to the correct address with the quickest customer service I've ever received.

Hah, Dan @ Trophy sent you the pictures of my setup that you used in your video. Cool. As a FYI, those are five of the 304Ah Trophy batteries, which I built an insulated box around, as these are used in an unheated shed at 9300 feet altitude in the mountains of Colorado. So yes, it does get cold here. As for communication with Victron gear. So far Dan and I have not been able to get the 304Ah to talk to my Victron Cerbo GX unfortunately. As you said, indeed, Dan is just great to work with!

Great job on the pros and cons Will, I don’t think you know how much people depend on your knowledge and analysis, thank You!

Absolutely agree with everything you said. I bought these. Completely happy. Dan is a really nice guy. My only wish is that the front switch was in the middle under the screen. The only reason is that I use a bus bar, and the switch gets in the way a bit. I would also like the terminal screws to be a half inch longer for my thicker bus bar. I don’t think that would be a problem for the way most people do it.

Thanks Will. Nice overview. I do like the ability to replace cells if needed though. You did not mention Inverter comms compatibility with the Trophy BMS. Is it CAN or RS485, and Pylontec or other proprietary protocol? How do they handle load sharing when in parallel? That would be an interesting test. Would love to see them talking to your MPP LV6548's also!

One of the things I like about these is they're a standard rack unit height (the 220Ah one is 5RU according to their manual) and it looks like the mounting holes in the front panel are at standard spacing. Most of the other rack batteries AREN'T a standard size. It is a pity they aren't UL certified though.

Those are maximum juicy! Love them. I like the singular approach of their company. Thx for sharing.

I love how you just tell it like it is! Does the Trophy BMS communicate well with my Victron system?

I bought a Trophy battery specifically for the convenience of internal heaters. Note that the heaters are not manually operated. The heaters work automatically and only when charging power is available. The heaters do not operate on stored energy so they will not drain the battery. My battery is in an unheated shed and it has done pretty well as long as the sun cooperates. I actually used the crate it was shipped in as an insulated rack. The % state of charge does not seem accurate. I was at 39% and I plugged in my 500 watt block heater for my truck for an hour and a half and found the battery went into safe mode due to under voltage. By my math it should have had something left. It was -20F so I guess that had something to do with it. Also I haven't found a way to get it to communicate with my Growatt inverter, but it works OK as a dumb battery. It works fine and it has been idiot proof so far.

Thanks. My hubby used echogear server racks (Amazon) for both of his systems.
