Hello everyone, welcome to At-Man Unlimited. End Mills, where the metal hits the work piece. They make the chips actually fly. The final link to making good parts.
In this series we are exploring the different aspects of end mills. Let’s look at the cutting geometry of an end mill and types of end mills. We will discuss how the geometry effects the function and use of the end mill.
Please keep in mind throughout this series that this is for entertainment only. While I try my best to have the facts straight I am not a tool designer or supplier. Some items in here are my opinion and should be taken as such. What works for me may not be right for you.

This was awesome. I'm 16 and I'm just learning. I totally understood everything when you used the card board and wood. Thank you so much.

Really good explanation... I used to read about tool geometry in my mechanical engineering studies and now I have a cnc at home so watching as a revision... Good job....

Nice use of CAD

It can be quite helpful to remember that we're never really cutting, but putting pressure on the material in the right way to get it to fracture where we want. There's a video on YT called 'Iscar Chip Formation' that's got slow motion footage of what happens in the cut.

Hooray. I finally understand the anatomy of the end mill. Helps me to learn how to sharpen them on my new cutter grinder. Thanks for that.

"Low to high" with a ball end mill? I had never heard of that, but it makes a lot of sense. Awesome! Thanks for this very educational video.

One of the best explanation that I found anywhere on the web. Really nice and indepth information. If you could also make a video on how to calculate speed, feed, depth of cut for different tools and materials then that would be great. Thanks in advance

Great job explaining the geometry and functions; now I'm going to go and try to figure out how to apply it to my new, 1st cutter grinder which just got here yesterday, it should be interesting. Thanks for the great job. I just subscribed.

I’m a shop teacher and was wondering where you got that equipment in the beginning of the video to demonstrate the cutting action? The kids always say I don’t know what I’m talking about but WTF do they know!!! I feel the 2 very nice models you have access to could help me tremendously in the classroom… one day this kids mom said I was rude to her son so I told her to fuck off or suck me off!!!
I’m sorry I crack myself up

Очень хорошее, качественное видео. Если сможете, сделайте видео заточки фрез так же подробно, с детализацией каждого элемента. Спасибо!
