Professional Bodyshop RUINS Classic Truck Hood. Can We Fix it? 1953 Chevy Kustom

preview_player
Показать описание
This is part 2 of sectioning the hood on our tasty Chicken Truck, the radical kustom 1953 Chevy pickup. Thanks to old collision damage and bad decisions, the project becomes much more complicated than anticipated and I end up having to splice two hoods together. Also, several critical mistakes are made. The hood becomes a warped mess because I do not weld it together properly, but we fix it anyways using cheap hand tools

Like the channel - since i screw up this kind of stuff, it is nice to learn how to get back out the self dug hole. In spite of your self criticism- this is is very helpful for wannabees and hobbyists

Hi Kyle 🤝

I love your work and your attention to detail. I always look forward to your videos with great joy. I learned the bodybuilding trade on my own. Unfortunately I don't work in the field. I put my talent into keeping my cars in good condition and those of my family. I would like one thing. Explain what the disk does on the metal by making a drawing. I don't really understand English, I'm from the province of Quebec.

Thank you for your generosity and your sense of humor. You are amazing 🤩🏆🤝

I'll have to agree with Roger. Disappointingly insufficient cats. My facial expression at the end of the video matched exactly that of the ginger cat. My Disappointment was somewhat mollified by the outstanding metal whispering. Thanks Kyle!

Can't wait to see that parked next to a regular unmodified truck.

Thanks for the explanation on what happened with the weld. That hood came out great after your magic. From where I am at, it looks like it always belonged there. Nice job with the shrink disk. I am definitely looking forward to the next video. Thanks for taking the snow while we got the rain. Mighty nice of you. I used to work at an auto parts place and I used to clear the snow by piling it up in the bed so we could have traction for the rear wheels. It worked great until one of the geniuses that used to work with us parked it inside and flooded the store. They now work for the government so we are safe now. Anyhow that hood is awesome. Take care.

Olds grill lookin' good! Maybe add some French touches to the chicken truck. Chicken Fricassee truck or Coq au Vin truck, could be tres chic! Cheers! 😎👍🐔🐓🥚🛻🏁🏁

You know what would improve the parts of the video where you're gesturing with your left hand, and holding the camera with your right? A chicken sock puppet. Maybe you could set it on fire? A flaming, smoldering chicken sock puppet would be awesome. Other than that, I'm enjoying this series a lot. Also, thanks for taking the time to talk about metal shrinkage and the importance of properly fitting patch panels--I needed to hear that.

Carter watching you walk your way through the problems and solutions is never a waist of time Brother . You have a gift and is a pleasure to watch your problem solving skills and is most impressive like the Mung removal the weld rehab and the eye you truly have for building old trucks and cars and restoring them to a renewed level of perfection. Keep being you Brother and keep sharing the great content .

When my Dad built his '37 Chevy Ute hotrod, he welded the top section of the hood (originally two parts) into one. He also had to add reinforcements to the bottom side to keep it from flopping around. He did not have your skills, and had to use a bit of "product". Can confirm, it does weigh approximately 7000 lbs...

Wow Kyle, that totally changes the truck! It’s looking rakish. Dare I say sporty? Totally befitting that twin turbo Bugatti engine now!

Another astounding learning experience, of course I am not out there doing anything with my new found knowledge. You sir, have found your niche, and in my opinion, are qualified as a professor in the proverbial College of Metalworking, if there is such of a thing. Once again, I laughed out loud several times as you stated exactly what I was thinking at the very moment, plus kitty cats.

The cobbled together Chicken Truck hood stand was awesome! Finally, you're putting out content that I can relate to.. not that metal shaping voodoo-witchcraft that none of us could do with a gun to our head. I'm glad to see you are starting to cater to us totally unskilled viewers. Your loyal viewer in a shed
