Heatwave continues to rock Southern California

The Southern California late-summer heatwave will continue through the weekend, and it's causing dangerous conditions and power outages. KTLA's Gene Kang reports on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2024.

89 outside now but in a sweater because this 1883 (renovated) log cabin keeps the inside down in the low 60s. Lately been cooling off into the high 40s overnight which is pretty chill for summer. Big reason I fled to Montana. Low humidity, too. I did my time in Phoenix, L.A., Sacramento and Kansas City. I symphathize.

It cools off overnight in Southern California so it isn't that bad. If this happened on the East Coast, it would be much worse because it stays rather warm overnight as well.

It happens every September, some years right up to Halloween 🎃 it’s been a cooler summer with cooler than usual nights, at least up until this week.
