This is just eq that makes them brighter or more upper midrange forward. Using them dry is probably best, as this eq is far too bright. Unless you actually need it for hearing loss, which is what it’s designed for.

But yeah getting aftermarket tips is totally smart, i got some foam tips for my pros

My problem with that is the dynamic compression. You get some compression when you turn headphone accommodation ON. And as mentioned you only get it on iOS devices. The real solution would be a parametric EQ. But hell would freeze first before Apple is giving us that function for audiophiles.

Ironically, even though my memory foam tips feel like a better more secure fit, they often fail the “ear tip fit test” in the Bluetooth settings for the AirPods Pro (1st and 2nd generations). It appears that sound seems to leak through the foam more than the silicone.

It doesn't work with the Apple Watch. Not a psychopath for not wanting to take the bulk of a phone with me on a run. Why can't Apple get with the f'ing program and a) allow user created EQ profile (not just on the music app with it's presets) and b) retain these custom settings for sound ON the earbuds themselves like pretty much every other earbud manufacturer allows? Then this EQ or 'custom tuning' can be used with ANY source. People have been screaming for the basic EQ customisation for years (not presets) and it falls on deaf ears. This is just one reason why people hate on apple so much - just listen to the people's request for these features for Pete's sake.
