What is the real Philippines? It's certainly not BGC.

I really enjoy your videos and your style!! I remember walking around Pasay and noticing the trash in the water there. My wife and I stayed at the Golden Phoenix in a really nice location but you can walk not that far away and you see lots of trash in the water, a little disparity goes on in the Philippines to say the least.

I always love when you "walk off the beaten path" and present your viewers with the realistic portrait of life in the baranguays for most Filipinos. It is intriguing, fascinating and inspiring how most people work, live and survive in the metropolis. Your narration adds perspective and understanding. Thanks!

My sentiments on religion are similar. When you are selling nothing but air your overhead is super low. Saw a huge squatter housing fire in Mandaluyong when I lived in Tivoli Gardens. They used a chopper to scoop water out of the river to dump on the fire. Lots of broke peeps lost everything that day I’m sure.

I lived in Manila for 3 years. 1 year in Makati (Rada street) and 2 years in Ortigas. ADB Av. and F. Ortgias Jr. (formerly Emerald Av) . Held and office at Cyberscape Beta, and later Gamma (Topaz and Ruby). Visited BGC more than often.
BGC is too plastic I'd say. It is nice place definitely, and I would not mind living there. But it is too plastic. Nightlife has the exception, that one is very very good in BGC.
Ortigas is more raw. Ortigas has insane amount of large premium malls walking distance (Megamall, Galleria, Podium, Ayala 30th, and Shangrila). It is also a bit plastic and feels like a wannabe bgc sometimes. They are building too much there as well. Nightlife is crappy. You only have the metrowalk there but it declined so much, when I left, end of 2019, it was almost dead there.
Makati is the real thing. It has class. It has raw sides West of Amersolo, especially west of skyway. South East of EDSA. North of JP Rizal. And the whole area of Poblacion. Makati has it all.
I actually think then next big thing is gonna be the reclaimed bay area around MOA and the airport. The streets there are wider and allow for more traffic. The casino's there have amazing night clubs. Cove is insane.
If ever I'd go back I'd probably live in Makati again. Urdaneta or Bell air if budget allows for it, but if condo, probably century city or legazpi village again. Greenbelt park with its outside bars and restaurants is just an awesome to relax.
Other place i might just chose is Malate. Get a condo near Rizal park with a view over the bay. I enjoyed going to Malate. Raw place. Good nightlife. Real Philippines ;) Although flooded with Koreans nowadays (actually Ortigas also, just that in Malate they seem to be tourists). Just a pain in the ass to get there from Makati.

The "real" Philippines is where the majority of lower to middle class Filipinos live and it's NOT in high-rise condo buildings like you see in BGC and Makati.

You can regain your celebrity status in those barangays coz they rarely see foreigners there, you are unique/special there.

Organised religion in the Philippines has a lot to answer for----its hard nosed stance on contraception, sex education and divorce has devastating effects on large parts of the community. I love exploring the Barangays---locals wondering what the hell you are doing at the Guadalupe market and surrounds. I learned lessons quickly after dringing beer from a cup full of ice at Greenfields nigh fair----Lapu Lapus revenge. Thanks for the tour. Only problem with your cheap sunglasses is they have no UV protection and can cause more eye damage than no sunglsses

FYI: the creek @13:09 is where all the waste/sewage for all the squatter shacks that line the creek flows into. when they "flush" it goes directly in to creek 🤮 Hence a third world country.
A fresh fruit stand is yummy, a fresh spinner even yummier @10:24
"A Lot of Impromptu & Interesting Construction" 😂🤣 Equals illegal additions/construction 😁
