If the front pockets just curve and not go to the top, I attach a ribbon tape to suspend the pocket and sew it into the waistband. No saggy pockets or gaping. Lately I been using stretch knit interfacing on the waistbands because I am sewing stretch twill of either cotton or wool. That way nothing will tear on the inside if the pants are stretched out during wear. My waist expands by 7 cm in the winter and goes down in the spring. Jorgen likes how it feels comfortable even when wearing a belt.

Excellent tips! I need to watch your blind hem tutorial again so I can improve on the technique. Quite often, when I am sewing waistbands, I pin the right side of the waistband to the wrong side of the pants and sew, attaching band. Press and flip the waistband toward the outside. When pressing the seam allowance on the outside of the band, I make sure it covers the seam. Hard to explain and sounds counterintuitive, but I obtain better results with top stitching. Thanks for your tips, here is one tip. It is sewing buttonholes. I use the tear-away paper stabilizer for my button holes so they are now chewed up by the sewing machine. I tear them off after the buttonholes are made.
