For anyone confused, follow these steps:
(it's basically going anti-clockwise)

Go from centre hole to top left to secure the thread.
1. Bottom left to middle left
2. Bottom right to bottom left
3. Middle right to bottom right
4. Top right to middle right
5. Top left to top right
6. Middle left to top left

(start from bottom left to middle left again and continue the process until star is done.)
