On World Refugee Day we talk about the Bru tribal community of Mizoram, who have been living in Tripura since 1997. The community fled Mizoram following an ethnic conflict with the Mizos.

This issue has been spreading like a wildfire all over India. Blaming Mizo communities for not taking back displaced Bru communities. But knowing the fact, Mizoram government and mizo people have been trying their best to take them back many a times. The main difficulty is that the demand that Bru communities has made is out of question. They are demanding separate autonomous district council in mizoram, they also demanded vast area of land to be allotted for each family of Bru along with financial assistance that many mizo family within the state could not even afford and could not avail so far. If someone wants to know the fact of this issue, try to get information from both the parties. I.e. from Mizo community and Bru community as well. Fake news and wrong information has been spread across the country by Bru communities and those communities who support them.. My request to all the viewers is to make judgement only after knowing the real essence and situation of this issue.

Nepalese also live in Mizoram long long ago. Still now they never ask autonomous land for them. They never complain anything about Mizoram government. Why you Bru people try to split Mizoram?
You can stay in Mizoram peacefully but don’t claim again district.

This is a stark lie. From what i have researched so far, there was no conflict between mizos and brus. Brus just fled mizoram because of the conflict among brus themselves. Brus just plays politics. support Mizo from AP...

That Bruno Mesha was educated in Mizoram, no Mizo discriminated him during his college years. Why the Tuikuk(Bru) fled Mizoram? Cos' they killed Mizos including an innocent boy. They were forced to flee by their very own Bru militant fearing retaliation. No Bru died at the hands of Mizos. National papers reporting Brus are Buddhist/Hindu is bullshit, they don't have religion, they have their own tribal practices, they will profess any religion when it suits their agenda. I was brought up in a village where Brus settled on the sorrounding hills, I know them well. By the way, regarding the burning of Bru houses? The Brus were like Bedouin, they move from one place toe another after the harvest and looking for new cultivable land. They have the habbit of burning their own house (mostly bamboo hut) once they leave. Mizos don't hate them but if they feel safe in Tripura, they can settle there, its their original homeland anyway. Why creating so much lies and trouble for peace loving Mizos

Include the actual reason for their migration? We are living here and we know how things are going on here, 70% af Brus are still living peacefully here. They themselves moved out of this land for their choice only. Just because they are Hindu you are supporting them, how about if they are Christian/Budhhist, will you moved out like this??? 😁

Hey there...bunch of biased, cynical and endorsers of communal tensions mizo people..grow up..The Hindu is a trusted Indian source..one of the oldest and most reliable. I don't know whatever crap source you are relying..But give respect to this kind of reputed source i.e The Hindu.
