Does Being Busy Equal Bad Hair?

More often than I care to admit, I have been really letting the busyness of my life get in the way of taking regular, consistent good care of my hair. Which meant that when the time came to wash my hair, it was so tangled and so matted that it would literally take me an entire day of working through my hair in sections to get it done, which just made me dread washing my hair and caring for my hair all the more.

This hair care challenge, I've been really just honing in on being consistent with regular hair care, even if life feels really busy. And I've been learning a lot of new things too about what my hair likes and what it doesn't like and trying things that I had not otherwise been doing consistently that I think I might want to add to my daily consistent hair care routine in the future. And I'll be sharing that to you soon.

Long hair is more manageable than the world wants us to believe... I respect all choices, but I feel like a victim of discrimination for wearing my hair long (a bit past hip length). Wasn't this a free world? With my texture, I don't have much of a choice. Your channel is so informative. Thank-you 😊

I've had some matting too 😢 thankfully thats gone now but I'm currently dealing with a LOT of single strand knots, which is something I've never had before.

I feel that this zones in on curly hair people rather than straight, wavy, fine thinning hair. Each hair type would have a different hair care routine in my opinion. Curly hair can go much longer between washes whereas wavy or straight hair gets oilier faster.

I raised 6 children, and you are definitely in a busy season of life! Trust me when I tell you to enjoy every second of the craziness! It goes by to fast, and when you're older, you will find yourself wishing you were back in that season! My oldest just turned 42, and I'm a grandmother to 8 grandchildren! I love it! Family get togethers are amazing, but the older I get, the faster the days go by! When looking back, it went by in a blink of an eye! Take every opportunity with your children, leave the dishes sometimes, and just go outside and play! In the future, you will be thankful you did! Some of the best memories are made on those days! I have always worn my hair long, and it is much easier and faster to have when you're a busy person. I had my hair cut chin length once, I had to style it the same way every day. With long hair, you can easily put it up, braid it, or many other quick options. I love your videos!

I've found wearing my hair in plaits like you, but over my head, Heidi milkmaid style is the best way to ignore my hair without getting tangled. Looks good, if not better after a night's sleep.

on the note of tangles and mats (relatable 😩) i know you've got a historical routine but i wonder if you might try out a non-damaging tool like FHI Heat's Unbrush? i might sound like a payed add but hear me out - i have a knockoff of it and it changed EVERYTHING i know about detangling and hair care in general.

for me it's reduced fallout, discomfort, breakage and, most dramatically, ***time and effort***. I'm disabled, have chronic pain, and caring for hip length hair is hard. so when i say i could not go back to life without it ever, i MEAN it 😭

if you ever decide to try one in your routine i think you'd want to use it the day before your wash day! but you're the best judge of u obviously.

it might sound like I'm blowing this out of proportion, but i am so serious, look up literally any review. it is worth it on every level. up to u always tho 😌✨💅

hope you're well! love your videos.

Im new to your channel. You are young and beautiful - but trust me because I know from experience - the older you get and the bigger your kids get you will see that while it is important to take of ourselves - the easier the better! My hair is not short but it is shoulder length - I color it, use good shampoo and conditioner, do not wash every day but when I saw that you have 5 kids and saw how long your is - for me I could never do it! Love the channel

For the last 6 years I have been o it washinf my hair once a month to once every 6 weeks and my hair is not gross. Yes it’s a bit oily but not bad. I do use a little baby powder on daya it’s a little bit oily but my hair and scalp are so much healthier
