Judge releases video of Huawei’s Meng Wanzhou being searched at airport before arrest

On August 20, 2019, the Supreme Court of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, ordered the release of five videos shot at Vancouver International Airport that reveal the inspection of Chinese tech giant Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou before her arrest on December 1, 2018.

Meng was arrested at the Canadian airport at the request of the US government. The US is seeking her extradition for an alleged breach of trade sanctions against Iran by Huawei.

Allegations is different from being convicted of a crime . Extradition treaty between Canada and the US is about a fugitive running away from pursuit, or one who flees from prosecution or prison from either countries. In the case of Meng Wanzhou, there is no such criminal complaint whatsoever was filed against her in any Federal Court in the US, thus, how could she be allegedly trying to flees from prosecution or escape from prison when no such criminal complaint was charged yet in any courts. In fact, there is no fugitive to begin with to be extradited to the USA. In short, there is no extradition treaty to speak of. The Supreme Court of BC( SCBC) has no alternative except to dismiss the complaint or petition at the outset for lack of jurisdiction. Such a Decision of the judge is not supported by competent and substantial evidence as it rests on conjectures, surmises, speculations and gratuitous conclusions and that the Decision violated the ' Cardinal Rule that conviction must rest on tthe strength of the prosecution evidence and not on the weakness
of the dèfense evidence.

it is a sad state of affairs when the government of china, in my opinion, kidnapped two visitors from canada, in an attempt to extort her release, from justice, this person should have her day in court, to prove any charges were faulty, asnd should be dismissed! however, the detention of two visitors from canada, is a very heavy handed demonstration, of the lack of constraint, within the chinese government, and is looked upon by the world in disfavor of the current regime, and some changes should be considered! I suggest a committee with no ruler, at the table mitigating common sense solutions to the current problems!
