Huawei claims that PRISM is scary, however, Snowden described in his book that China was way ahead with the surveillance programs even before PRISM was initiated.

I love how the guy refers to Huawei as small company.
200k employees
122b dollar revenue
Yeah, practically a lemonade stand...

"For the benefit of a few corporations, you cannot sell the privacy of the people of your country down the river"

Apparently doesn't apply when the corporations are American...

I saw in an interview with Bill Gates that Microsoft was very much aware in the 80's and 90's that Windows was heavily pirated in China but chose not to take action. The reason was very interesting. He felt that at that time, Chinese could not afford the cost of Windows and if they enforced their copyright then China would be forced to develop a low cost OS that would directly compete with Windows and that could erode Microsoft's dominance and profits overall. It sounds like the restrictions on China might realize his original concern. The cost of Software is labor and if the US SW profits drop then it is going to force those companies to reduce their labor costs. That would not be good for the US economy.

Can you make a video about the massive surveillance systems put in place in China to keep people under control?

We'll probably have something similarly massive over here in the very near future (Facebook, Twitter and Google are already working hard on suppressing information), so it's probably a good idea knowing how they work and what they do.

It's strange how whole world discusses that US banned Huawei but no one discusses that China banned Google, Facebook, Twitter and a lot more.

Let’s not forget that China has banned most, if not all, EU and US websites and technology

nice video, but between French energy companies in the 2010s to Japanese electronics giants in the 80s, the US has a far from spotless record on free trade.

Funny how those people are talking about privacy "for their people" when something like Google and Facebook exists...

Would be foolish to think that Huaweii does not have close ties with the CCP.

It's not so much caught between the powers as it is part of the state apparatus of one of the powers involved

I'd be more sympathetic to Huawei if Chinese markets were as open as US markets.
