Making plasma

Creating plasma in a simple vacuum chamber made of a glass cylinder and 2 aluminum disks. The high voltage power supply was arranged with a microwave transformer, variac, capacitor and a diode.
Next step is to try to add a magnetron sputter gun to deposit metal on glass.

I have used everything from barbeque propane tanks to 1 gallon pickle jars. Your glass cylinder and simple geometric aluminum disks make a beautiful chamber.

Just a tip. A long and narrow vacuum line is bad for the pumping speed. I would increase the diameter of the piping.
But thumbs up for a very stylish looking chamber! :)

If you add a little oxygen flow the plasma becomes pink and is useful for molecular cleaning of plastics

Its a pretty cool project and while it has been 2 years, have you made any improvements? I was particularly wondering if there is an inexpensive high frequency power supply that can be bought to achieve this. Something like a ZVS flyback transformer?
