So that's why the duck walking up to the lemonade stand wanted grapes, he secretly knew that grapes were the most powerful thing in the Universe

I learned this the hard way by defrosting raspberries in the microwave. Had to go down a physics rabbit hole to find out why my frozen raspberries were trying to catch my microwave on fire.

We need a longer video about this. Making plasma with grapes is a too complex and interesting subject to be discussed in a 1 minute video.

For those that are wondering how it works
Plasma, as a fourth state of matter, (gas, liquid, solid) is when the electrons get stripped away from the nucleus due to the high energy involved - A spark is plasma, and grapes in a microwave have the right structure to focus the waves into electrical energy capable of creating said plasma. Tinfoil does the same.
The little bit of metal in the grapes allows them to shoot plasma if they're prepared correctly. A whole grape does nothing, but if you butterfly a grape (cut it in half so that a tiny bit of skin remains and set it in the microwave with the halves side by side and that tiny bit of skin working as a bridge), put a glass over it (optional, but it makes it much cooler), then microwave for about 30 seconds and the skin "bridge" will superheat due to being such a tiny space and the metals reflecting the microwaves, it creates an effect similar to, as you said, tinfoil, or like the tines of a fork being microwaved. The video he posted below shows how to prepare the grape and what it does when microwaved

"honey why is the microwave not working?"

I didn't have a grape so I used a banana instead and somehow I ended 20 years in the past

You forgot to mention, the most interesting part is that grapes are perfectly sized to be microwave lenses, they are literally focusing all the energy of the microwaves down to that tiny point

I've known this for many years. Years ago as a security guard for an office building on the graveyard shift, my fellow guard and I had too much time on our hands and decided to do "scientific experiments". These experiments mostly consisted of raiding the kitchen for various things to either put in the microwave or toss off the roof of the building (gravity never failed). The two most memorable experiments were the grapes in the microwave and separately, a Twinkie in the microwave for 20 minutes. Let me just say that the Twinkie smell was very strong and continued until well into the following workday. Nobody ever asked security about the horrible smell.

This is why I warm my grapes in the oven.

That's because the wavelength of the microwaves inside the grape is roughly the same as the diameter of the grapes.

"honey please don't break another microwave"😫

No one :
Me : microwaving grapes just to see some sparkles

It will work with anything that size that's mostly water. It's because the size of the grapes happens to be the same as the width of the microwave wavelength when passing through.

I heard about this through the grapevine :)

Interestingly a microwave does not pulse at 120Hz like most other heaters but a 60Hz. It uses a diode to charge a capacitor and discharge the capactior in the second half of the wave so you get double the voltage half of the time .

Every scientist working on fusion energy for the past 50 years just facepalmed because they had been using raisins.
