In the UK the CM-1U 220-240V variant was advertised until March 1966. The World Radio History website has an advert in featuring the CM-1U Wireless World, March 1966, page 148. As far as I can see it no longer appears in Daystrom's ads from April 1966 onwards.

Introduced in USA in 1955

The twin triode used in the CM-1 was a popular osc/sweep tube used in televions receivers of the time.

In all of my later Heathkit restoration videos, you see me attempt to reform and keep original caps in place for educational purposes, i usually never bother, except for my videos, It always ends up that for some reason I find that they will be ripped out by project end. Even coupling caps with seemingly low ESR finds trace DC values in circuit where 0 is expected, bad news on an amp grid input. As for those brown paper electrolytics, i have a bag of them only to restuff if i should decide, but they are to iffy to ever put in a power supply.

Thanks for another excellent Heathkit review, Jeff.
I've "caught the bug" from you and I'm starting to work on my first Heathkit project (a HG10-B VFO) as a result of rekindling my amateur radio activity.

It's all your fault :-)

I can't get enough of the stuff so I bought your book as well as Chuck Penson's book.
