There's a lot of negativity floating around in online filmmaker circles. Why is that? We should be building each other up, not tearing one another down.

You make some great points. As a beginner I've avoided asking such obvious questions because Google is my best friend... but I see a lot of people ask questions in these groups and get roasted for it.

I've TRIED to talk to some of these people, there's just no getting through (nicely). Hell, I had one guy TWICE on two different posts tell me, "Hey, this is the Internet. If you don't like what I have to say, you should have THICKER skin or not ask questions!" I've learned to use the BLOCK button to weed out all the assholes. It's pretty powerful. It's kinda like the Infinity Glove! lol :)

I am angry that you posted this!!! I think the people who are content or understand the process are less likely to post at all while those who struggle tend to have the loudest voices. As others have stated, it's not just filmmaking but in many aspects of life and work. good video!

Social Media has conditioned people to "Love or Hate" any Noun - Verb - Meme - Personal positions - or any visuals / audio - people don't read articles only titles...

Off topic but sort of still on topic... I know a filmmaker (no names) who will block you for disagreeing with them or will block you for constructive criticism. I can understand if someone is just being negative because they are jealous or bitter. But to block someone who didn’t agree/or gave constructive criticism that’s just petty to me. Idk.

Another interesting video I think there are just some Angry people not just filmmakers I think it's usually bitterness of things not going their way some are just naturally more snarky nothing to do about it I guess just got to take the rough with the smooth anyway all the best . look forward to the next videos
