Resto Shaman has always held a special place in my heart. I love them, and while they have a bad rep in dungeons, most of the time, I invite the shamans if they're rio shows that they know how to play. Someones gotta give them a chance.

Good video. I have run several plus 10-15 keys in beta as a resto shaman. I felt shaman pretty strong in dealing with high AOE dmg, since Shadowlands dungeons have far more AOE situations compared to BfA. As for covenant, Maldraxxus(Necrolords) is my ideal choice so far because it has a short CD(45s) and it buffs your next healing wave to apply to everyone who has riptide HoT. It's a huge advantage when teammates are spread. Fleshcraft also gives shamans more survivability. And considering the importance in raid, I decide to main resto shaman in Shadowlands.

Loving the Morrowind music. One of the best games ever made (imo), and very much reminds me of the best period of my life so far.

the single target healing is my main issue, playing rshaman at the beginning of bfa really soured it for me.

As an Rsham main, I appreciate this vid; good content, as always. Sadly, for me, Discipline is too appealing (not to mention powerful, especially at the start of xpacs) to pass up. If they make Surge of Earth into a compelling SINGLE TARGET healing talent, maybe it will make me switch. Blizzard seems intent on doubling down on Rsham stacked AoE healing abilities, as if they don't already have enough GCDs for stacked AoE healing. Shame, tbh :( Thanks again though, mang!

Riptide needs to be a way stronger heal, I think that would help a lot. Back in LK it used to CHUNK heal and it felt good. Now, Riptide feels like something you have to do in order to get Tidal Waves.

Honestly, I'm not saying it would fix all of our problems - but I feel like an after-effect to our Healing Wave/Surge would go a long way towards remaining viable in higher M+ runs. I got the idea thinking of Rehgar's "Ancestral Healing", turning it into a chance to splash an additional percentage-based heal on our target whenever we cast Healing Wave/Surge.

It may not make up for not having a legitimate external for the tank, but it would give us a reasonable catch-up mechanic when we fall behind on healing, which is one of the biggest things we lack. Blizzard's current answer to our catch-up healing dilemma was to give us 'Surge of the Earth'... a dead-on-arrival talent that would require us to drop 'Echo of the Elements', which we can't really do.

I can live with not being the best option for ST-healing, but I would like to at least break into 15+ Mythic key runs again without being passed over because I chose my favorite spec. It won't fix our lack of damage for higher runs, but a %-based chance to land an additional %-based heal on our ST casts would go a long way to giving us a relatively easy-to-implement catch-up mechanic.

Going Venthyr for PVP regardless of the strength of Chain Harvest is probably the right call simply because both covenant abilities are in the shadow school and can be used to bait kicks.

Sounds like the same ol' shaman. GL tossing in an interupt when your frantically smashing surge.

There is a talent, that makes your healing wave hit harder and quicker, when you used a healing surge. Where using a healing wave, the mana costs for healing surge are reduced. This is a quite good mechanic imo. And enables the shaman to heal harder. And also take the talent that your intellect gets increased by using chainlightning or lightnig bolt. This all ramps up, to alot of extra stats, and quicker and more powerfull heals. I dont see shamans beeing weaker in single target healing... I mean.. look @ mastery... if a tank is low HP.. healingwave will hit so hard!

What I need in my life and I hope Blizz sees this is the set bonus from Antorus being baseline. Having a 60% healing wave cast while the tank was standing on healing rain was a beautiful thing.

I think blizzard is scared to give resto sham any kind of single target healing/DR external (“tank external”) due to being afraid it’ll break them in arena and make them too good. Pvp is the only plausible explanation I can think of as to why they haven’t yet.

Random aside also, but please give Rsham a poison dispel. Why we have a budget dispel compared to Druids being able to decurse + poison dispel is beyond me.

Btw, putting Spirit link totem on a @cursor macro makes it far easier to use in dire situations, I’d highly recommend it.
