This was a good comparison. I know Mask Prompter is popular. Are there use cases where it's better to use than Rotobrush 3? Also, will you do an update to this when the next version of Mask Prompter comes out?

I haven't used Rotobrush 3 yet, but I've used Rotobrush 2 a lot and been using Mask Prompter quite a bit lately. I've definitely noticed that Mask Prompter has a hard time with figuring out exactly what you want (like not including headphones or a microphone in one case for me). In some cases and I find myself making lots of adjustments to the mask box and even going in and painting or erasing some bits here and there with eraser or brush tool to clean things up on individual frames. It really depends a lot on a case-by-case basis as to how it performs. The main thing that I wish Mask Prompter had is something like a "Freeze" option that Rotobrush has because Mask Prompter can be pretty slow with rendering (as Rotobrush is when you haven't "frozen" the effect).

Ugh you uploaded this right after I bought Mask Prompter. Ugh -.- Mask prompter is very laggy, takes forever to render, doesnt playback very well and by the time it is done rendering after an hour, most clips look like example 2:29 by the time it is done. If not that much flickering there definitely is flickering. Is Rotoscope 3 a plugin to buy? Sadly I regret my Mask Prompter purchase

I can confirm Rotobrush 3 is much better and faster than mask prompter. I feel like I wasted money purchasing mask prompter.

You can get better results with Boris Fx Silhouette and it only takes you 3 weeks for one of those shot.

I tried it and also 3rd party AI for a 3-piece band and the results r similar some flickering sections make it unusable seems like all of these r geared to a single subject on close up takes

All I can do is chuckle. I purchased Mask Prompter and I would not recommend it. Yet, the Rotobrush 3.0 is in Beta, so I cannot go directly from Premiere to After Effects. Too many steps. I have to agree though, Rotobrush 3.0 gives me the best results.

6:06 hardly anything 'barely' about this. Rotobrush 3 produced a result that could easily be used, whereas not only did Mask Prompter not catch any hair refinement, but the video kept flickering in and out - meaning its 100% unusable at all.
