VOCES8 & Chineke!: Deep River

As part of the #LiveFromLondon festival, Chineke! invited to VOCES8 to collaborate to sing this arrangement by Matthew Lynch (the conductor) of Harry Burleigh's harmonisation of 'Deep River'.

How can 8 voices sound like 80? Beautiful, makes me want to start singing again at 85!

This song is truly amazing, and it has pulled me from the sadness and despair of the loss of my brother. The thought of him praising our Lord with this very song brings me to tears everytime. God has taken something awful and made it beautiful. Praise Him for the gift of song.

Sad to see a couple of comments from people unable to enjoy this on its own merits. Such compositions are of obvious cultural significance but as music, this is a gift to be shared by artists and audiences alike. Another perfect sound from VOCES8. Wonderful power paired with absolutely secure voices. They are accompanied by an equally perfect string ensemble. So the Gospelsong Deep River gets the right sound, in great perfection.
