P1 v LaFerrari v 918 Spyder // 1/4 Mile At Santa Pod | SCD Holy Trinity Shootout

Part 2 of our independent Test of the LaFerrari v P1 v 918 Spyder.

Filmed at Santa Pod on the afternoon of Friday 16th October. All three cars were tested in identical conditions, had all been driven to the venue and the drag strip was 100% dry for all runs. A jet powered track dryer was used before the cars had their single practice runs. Afterwards they had the chance to go head to head and set a fastest time, which is shown at the end of the video.

So, the 918 has the most advanced tech, is the most luxurious, is the easiest to live with, looks the best (in my opinion), is a convertible, beats the other two at the 1/4 mile and beats the other two on most tracks. It seems we have an overall winner.

When they were first introduced, almost everyone thought the Porsche would be the third (the last) of the three because of the added weight (AWD) and the zero emissions capabilities... which was not the case.

Theres always gonna be excuses....why would they do a biased I do believe the LaF would hit 11 seconds, because most stats and tests that the own manufacturer does and releases are all exaggerated or done on absolute perfect conditions. This test shows all three cars on the same track, whether and drag strip. Say what you want but this is a very accurate test.

Bad launches. a McLaren MP4-12C with stock tire can beat the 3 of them. I mean even the GTR Nismo beats their 1/8 mile time by almost half a car length. But anyway, LaFerrari is the quickest. 1/8 to 1/4 mile
LaF 3.49 sec +34.19 mph (+0.444G)
918 3.5 sec +33.12 mph (+0.429G)
P1 3.51sec + 32.99 mph (+0.426G)

Talking about the LaF how can it be possible that it reached 108 mph in 7.72 sec? The onboard camera of the LaF that take part at the V-Max in 2014 shows a custom car drived by a customer on a low grip track and without launch control hitting 108 mph in less then 7 second. I mean, I dont want say that this test is manipuleted or something but why we have here such lower speeds? This is also for the P1 and the 918 too. Their times seems very slow in this runs. But thank you anyway for making this possible

I'm so happy that Paul is doing this. The manufacturers kept dragging their feet, and Top Gear is dead. I never thought i'd be able to see this test. The track prep must not be the best either. At least the 918 and P1 should definitely run 9s (and 918 is proven to be capable of that vs a 720S)

What is with the speed? Uh...Gtr and z06 runs 10.8-11.1 ish at 125 mph in the 1/4 average. How they running 10.9-11 at 134-140 mph? Wtf?

Lmao! This 918 wasn't even the Nurburgring wiessach package like the white 918 the other guy crashed, and it still won by a long shot compared to the other two times.

I love how fanboys make so much excuses and cite motor trend.. I guess times havent changed, people still believe anything they read and hear. They say the track makes this unfair, tires, no race mode in p1, that the laferrari had race tires.. I mean.. How many shitty excuses can fanboys make up? the fastest car was the 918 and thats that..

These are actually real times on the day, unlike the fake "corrected" times that the American magazines do. Sure in sterile conditions/computer simulations these cars can do high 9s but in the real world it is not so straight forward. If you want realistic acceleration statistics forget American magazines/websites!!
