In a massive gathering in Tehran, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led the funeral prayers on October 04. While addressing the crowd, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that its regional allies would not back down. As Ayatollah Ali Khamenei addressed the funeral gathering, a ‘notable object’ beside the Supreme Leader gathered eyeballs. The ‘distinctive item’ next to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Khamenei, was a “weapon” that he held while addressing the crowd during Friday prayers. In his first public appearance following Iran’s attack on Israel, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei issued threats toward Israel while holding a weapon. This was the first time, Khamenei appeared in public since Iran launched 180 ballistic missiles at Israel.

Holding this gun from Friday prayers does not mean that he will fire it.
Holding a weapon for Friday prayers used to be a tradition of our Prophet Muhammad Alayhissalatuwassam before any war even in his old age ( in the latter's case, it was his sword).
Its merely re enacting the tradition of our beloved Prophet Alayhissalatuwassam.
Though Iran is on the brink of war with Israel, the leader did the same thing.

Khamenei’s supporters once chanted about holding Friday prayers in Al-Aqsa Mosque after the destruction of Israel. However, now they consider conducting Friday prayers in the heart of Tehran as a symbol of their so-called power and bravery.

In today's Friday prayers led by Khamenei, the number of attendees barely reached 100, 000. This is despite the fact that Tehran, the capital, has a population of over 10 million. To create a larger presence, Iran’s intelligence agencies and the IRGC had mobilized forces from various regions across the country, bringing them to Tehran for the event. Despite these efforts, the turnout remained noticeably small, showcasing the decreasing influence and support for the regime even in such heavily orchestrated gatherings. I live in Tehran, and this weak attendance is a significant reflection of the regime’s waning popular legitimacy.
